Lore: What is the Quel'dorei crest

Over on MMO-Champion there is an interesting thread on what the High Elf banner really is.

In order to add my two cents with pictures I have to put them up here since MMO has some really strange forum requirements.  So enjoy my take on the Quel'dorei look.

Race Lore Changes, The good the bad and the WTF

Blizzard has made changes to its living universe over time to let people try more race-class combinations.  Some were introduced with style some were written in by someone wanting to just go home after a long week and no creative energy left and some were just added with no explanation whatsoever.  So just for fun here are my thoughts on them - Ill go from worst to best.

#1 & #2 - Orc & Mage (Cataclysm), Draenei & Mage (Burning Crusade)
Ok so Orcs and Draenei  have a cultural hatred for things Fel (Like mage magic drawn from the twisting Nether).  yet they just have Mageswith no real explanations given.  The starting mage trainers for both races doesn't even have a dialog when you click on her.

No wedding OMG! (WTF?)

Over on Battlenet forums they were babbling about 'Thrall's Wedding' and Bashiok (One of the Bliz posters) upset some people by a comment.

Actually...I'm pretty sure what you saw counted as the 'wedding'. Things work differently in orc society.

Correct. Their pledging of their lives to one another was essentially their 'wedding', although I'm sure Orcs don't use such nomenclature to refer to these things. Maybe 'life bond' fits better.

Shattered Lore

I enjoyed doing every quest and exploring Azeroth in depth.  Coming to know it as well as any fictional world I'd adventured in.  But Cataclysm changed that.

Im not speaking of the things I've complained about before, the unoriginal rip off quests and jokes, but they also have launched Warcraft as a 'multimedia platform game'.  Want to know what happened to the Nightmare?  better read the book.  What happened with the worgen?  Get the comic.  What the heck is up with the faction leaders?  Time to read the wow homepage.  Its made the game unknowable except to a few dedicated or obsessed fans with lots of expendable income.  The more they do this the more disconnected people will feel with whats going on in game and the less involved with their characters.

Its only going to get worse as they bring in characters from these books and expect everyone to be excited because of the stories they told elsewhere.  With the tantrum thrown over Magister's Terrace and the Sunwell I thought they had learned from their mistakes but its repeating again.
