Transmog, Argent Defender

Paladins have many very fine outfits to chose from.  Ill soon be touching on the Conquest gear from Northrend but I wanted to bring up the Savage gear first - mostly because I gathered it up because I thought it looked that awesome.  In fact I wore it into Cataclysm leveling :)

So I present to you the Argent Defender!

The armor has a nice worn look to it as if its owner has seen some fighting yet takes care of it.  Not the armor of a prancing noble but a Crusader who is fighting.

The chain helm on the left actually looks decent (rare in Northrend in my experience) and for once the bulky gloves and shoulders make a uniform flow to the outfit.

The Tabard above is the Tabard of the Argent Crusade you can pick it up for a few silver if your friendly with the faction.

The Savage Gladiator's set will put you back 2346 JP for the set, just 1786 if you skip the helm from Arcanist Ivrenne (Alli) and Magistrix Lambriesse (Horde) in Dalaran.

The Hardened Obsidium Belt is a nice match in theme and colors.  Belts with the same graphics come from the Twilight Highlands quests too.

Tauren have a bit of an easier time with the set since all you have to do is match the color of your anklets.  So I chose the Drystone Greaves from the Ramkahen faction.

Other races can use some bulky boots that do work well with the colors.  The first boss in heroic Drak'Tharon Keep is probably the easiest to hit each day to try for his Terrace Defence Boots.

The tabard on the left is the Tabard of the Argent Dawn - sadly only around during special game events. The right is the Blue quality tabard that includes a teleport to Northrend ability called the Argent Crusader's Tabard.

But one of the fun things is finding weapons that go with your outfits.  I was happy to be able to use an old favorite here, the Obsidian Edged Blade from Molten Core.

It adds a bit of current content feel to the outfit with the red fire effect on the hilt while the brutal blade's simple design is in keeping with the Savage Gladiator's look.  It also is reasonably rare since even though it drops off many bosses the chance is very low.

But what Paladin look is complete without sword and board to go with it?

The Dimensional Blade one handed sword is a good solid sword design chosen to not be too flashy.

The glittery prize here is the shield Highlord's Favor a reward that comes after the quest 'Turning Yourself In' found in the revamped Western Plague lands.  Its totally unique with its sunburst design making it good for Blood Knights, Sunwalkers, and Argent Crusaders.
