Dragonray over at Azerothianlife has a great BlogAzeroth shared question.
What kind of guild environment do you like? From this I am referring to whether you like a quiet guild or a chatty guild - is there a happy medium?
Dragonray has some really cool ideas for topics. She really does.

Sometimes you want to go...
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same.
You wanna be where everybody knows....Your name.

I'm actually jealous reading the other posts Essence at GamerGirlConfessions has a great sounding guild. But on to my thoughts.
Lets see...
People: Who aren't perfect and know everyone else isn't. Who are mature enough to say their sorry and to accept it when someone else says it. Who will say Hi and chat when they have time and wont flip out if you or they are busy. Who will ask for help if they need it and not cry if you don't drop everything to help them. Who will help you if they have the time.
Doing: Raids, old school and new. Dungeons, Quests, fun things that shouldn't be possible. Getting crafting done and things needed for people in the guild. Willing to treat raids with respect while not freaking out over needing loot. Achievements and other fluffy fun thiings. Everything is better with friends.
Role-Playing: A special topic because its so important to me, as important as raiding. Having friends to do RP with so your not left always dealing with PuG roleplay is a really special thing. Working on stories together, listening to each other. No my way or the highway. Grandstanding, sure, but in moderation - everyone gets to be the hero sometime.
Guild ranking and levels and things mean little to me. Its all about the people I interact with. Even my own characters mean less than that. I've reolled on new servers to try new guilds and leveled more than a few alts just for that reason. I have yet to find a home really. I've been close off and on .. I'm pretty happy now but there is always something missing. No RP, no raiding, F-you if you want quest help, and so on.
I've been on the net since 14.4 baud was lightspeed. I ran guilds in different games as Leader, officer, et all. I guess I don't have the patience I used to when it comes to guild drama.
Its sad because I like running things and helping people. I was raid leading in the AllThingsAzeroth fan guild till that took too much of a toll. I just have to believe that someday Ill find my home.

Your home is totally out there, somewhere. I do hope you find it soon, though. You deserve it. :D
ReplyDeleteAlso love your writing style (read some other entries, hehe), and I like your RP/Story posts. :)
Feedreader'd! :D
Thanks for the compliments (you did make me blush) and I completely agree with your comments re people.
ReplyDeleteI think some of it is just common courtesy - which is sadly, becoming less and less common :D
I also don't feel that I have found my home, so we can travel the plains of Azeroth together. If I had more tolerance I would possibly consider starting up another guild, but I am not sure I can handle the whiners as politely as I used to :D
Good luck with your hunt - may elune guide you :D
