This announcement caught me by surprise. You can play Warcraft for free, well some of it. Previously trial accounts were limited to 14 days time and level 20. Now its unlimited time and 20.
But wait there is more!
On buying the game for a mere $20 you get BC for free and anyone who had a just vanilla game can add burning crusade to their account for free. you can check it out here.
I have mixed feelings about this...especially since they don't compensate anyone at all who just sunk hundred of dollars into the stuff their now giving away...and admitted earlier they should of been. But its a good idea overall.

Compensating people for something that you start to give away for free is always a touchy subject. How would they determine who to compensate ? Anyone who bought the box after 6-1-11? 5-1-11? 4-1-11? Who would actually do the compensating? Blizzard or the retail store where you bought it? How would you prove you bought the product in the appropriate time frame? Would a photo-copy of the receipt be enough? Would you have to mail the receipt in? I sympathize with someone who just bought the box though.
